Rest in Peace: Dwight Arrington Myers aka Heavy D

Rest in Peace

May 24, 1967 – November 8, 2011

The world of Hip Hop mourns another fallen veteran.  No full details have been released, but Dwight Arrington Myers, known to everyone as Heavy D had passed away almost two hours ago.

He was found unconscious in his Beverly Hills home late this morning, but later died after being transported to the hospital. Myers was only 44.

Heavy D was known in the hip hop game in the late 80’s well into the 90’s.  He was known for his big hits such as “Now That We Found Love” and “Is It Good To You”.  You guys would probably remember him for In Living Color‘s theme song in which he wrote.

Here’s one of my favorite Heavy D tracks as a kid.
