Rest in Paradise: “Smokin’ Joe” Frazier

Rest in Paradise

“Smokin’ Joe” Frazier

January 12, 1944 – November 7, 2011

The world of boxing lost a great earlier tonight. “Smokin’ Joe” Frazier had lost his battle with liver cancer. He was only 67 years old.

The former heavyweight boxing champ is best known for his trilogy of fights against the great Muhammad Ali.  In which the third was the great Thrilla in Manila where they pummeled each other to an epic blood filled battle until they couldn’t fight no more .  Frazier was also the first to hand Ali his first ever professional lost.

May his legacy forever be remembered in the sports world.
